From Crowdfunding to Recovery: Mizanur's Surgery Journey
In recent years, parts of the Modhupur Forest have suffered severe deforestation due to illegal logging, farming, and climate pressure. The area not only lost thousands of native trees but also became vulnerable to soil erosion, wildlife displacement, and declining air quality.
That’s why we launched the Greener Tomorrow Tree Plantation Drive—an initiative to restore this vital ecosystem through community-led afforestation.
With the help of donors, volunteers, and local farmers, the mission was clear:
plant 5,000 trees in a single day.
How It Happened
On June 12, 2025, over 200 volunteers—including students, local families, eco-activists, and NGO partners—gathered at the forest edge in Tangail. From early morning, teams worked in sections to dig, plant, and water native saplings such as Neem, Mango, Mahogany, and Jackfruit.
Free meals, tools, and event kits were provided to every volunteer, and a local agronomist supervised the planting process to ensure healthy growth and long-term survival.
I never imagined that something as simple as planting a tree could feel so powerful. As a university student, I often feel disconnected from nature, caught up in classes, exams, and screens.
